Megan Fox tops FHM's sexiest women list

Megan Fox is seen in the scene of "Transformer." Megan Fox is the sexiest woman in the world at least according to FHM magazine. The "Transformers" co-star tops FHM's annual 100 Sexiest Womenin the World poll of FHM readers. The 21-year-old model-actress beat out the likes of Angelina Jolie(No. 12), Rihanna (No. 14), Kim Kardashian(No. 17), Paris Hilton(No. 77) and last year's champion, Jessica Alba(No. 3).(Photo: chiandaily.com.cn/Agencies)
FHM March 2007:

FHM November 2005:

We have a lot of Megan Fox pictures in the gallery and you may have looked a few pictures and got your fill, but you probably missed some real gems that are buried way down in the archives. So once in a while I like to take a stroll into the past and bring some of these great pics back to the front page for you to enjoy. Here is a set that is a personal favourite of mine from the ABC Upfront event in May 2006. I think the pictures speak for themselves, she looks amazing here! Click on a thumbnail to see the full set. Enjoy!

How to Attract Visitors to Your Web Site

Attracting visitors to your Web site is a precondition for the success of your Web initiative. Although promoting your Web site should take place at all stages of your Web initiative, it is particularly important at the start. There are a few keys to attracting and promoting visitors to your Web site:

1. Choose the right URL, or Web site, address.

2. Make your Web site visible on the various search engines.

3. Place banner advertisements that link to your Web site on other Web sites.

4. Promote your Web site to your existing customers and prospects.

URLs
Your Web site address should be short, logical, and memorable so that someone could remember it without writing it down. Many new Internet companies will actually choose their name based on the availability of a domain name. You may not have this flexibility. It is also best to choose a domain within the “dotcom” top level domain. This is the premium real estate on the Web and will continue to be so even if or when additional top level domains become released.

Search Engines
Businesses have gone to a great deal of trouble making sure their Web sites show up on the various Web search engines. There are two types of search engines:

# Many Web site search engines require you to submit your Web site address and a brief description of the content on your Web site. Sometimes these search engines automatically list your site, other times employees evaluate your site to make sure that what you promise is what you deliver.
# Other search engines work quietly in the background, constantly searching the Web for keywords located in the text at the top of each of the individual pages of your Web site or elsewhere in your Web site, categorizing your Web site on the basis of the keywords.

Checking your current listing
If you already have a Web site, you can see how effectively your Web site is listed by visiting a popular search site such as www.yahoo.com (an individual search site) or a site such as www.ask.com that simultaneously submits your query to several search engines. Enter your name or the name of your business in the “find” box. The number of times your Web site’s correct Web address appears will give you an idea of how well you’re doing.

If your Web site address doesn’t show up frequently enough (or at all), you might consider devoting some time to visiting each of the search Web sites, locating their search criteria, and submitting (or resubmitting) your Web site address.

Increasing your visibility
There are some inexpensive ways you can ensure that search engines that actively search the Web will locate your Web site. One is to be sure that you clearly identify the contents of each page of your Web site in the title area at the top of each page.

Another approach is to add HTML meta text to the top of each page below the title area. Meta text consists of keywords that describe the contents of each page. Meta text does not show up on the screen of your Web site visitor, but it is visible to the search engines who silently visit Web pages and inventory the meta text located at the top of each page.

If your Web site contains important text, like headlines and pull quotes formatted as graphic files that are downloaded along with each page of your Web site, you can use alt text to make sure that the formatted text is searchable. Although the graphic files themselves are not indexed by search engines, alt text (which appears on the screen of your visitor’s computer as the graphic text is downloaded) is searchable and indexable.

Pros and cons of search engines
The advantage of being listed by a search engine is that a lot of potential visitors to your Web site depend on them. However, if you are totally absent from the search engines, you will undoubtedly miss out on some sales opportunities.

Other problems involved with search engines are that not every Web visitor is aware of them or uses them, and the explosive growth of the Web has meant that the search engines are unable to keep up with new sites. Some research indicates that less than 16 percent of all Web sites are listed on search engines. Search sites are overwhelmed by the number of Web sites out there.

The primary emphasis of this book is on using the Web as a tool to develop closer relationships with existing customers and prospects and those you encounter during your day-to-day business activities. For this reason, it makes more sense to concentrate your attention on developing open and premium content for visitors at each stage of the customer development cycle, and backing up your efforts with a consistent and targeted e-mail program aimed at those most likely to buy from you, rather than investing a lot of time on marginal prospects.

Banner Advertising
Many Web sites contain banner advertisements. Banners are ads that, when clicked, bring the visitor from the current site to your Web site. Banner ads are either traded or sold. The purpose of trading banner ads is that, hopefully, when your ad is seen by visitors at a site attracting the same market as yours, the visitor will click on the banner and visit your Web site. You can also purchase banner ads on Web sites that, presumably, attract visitors who would enjoy visiting your site.

The pros and cons of banner ads
The advantage of banner advertisements is that your name and brief advertising message is viewed by tens, perhaps hundreds of thousands, of visitors to other Web sites each day, thereby increasing your firm’s visibility. Also, since payment for many banner advertisements is based on the number of visitors who click on the banner and visit your site, you pay only for the actual site visitors, even though your advertising message may have be seen by far more people. And, of course, there is no charge for banner ads that are exchanged or traded with other sites.

The problem of banner ads is that—at best—they are intrusions. They interrupt the primary reason the visitor is at a Web site, which is to learn something.

When trading banner ads on your site for banner ads on another site, of course, each time a visitor clicks on a banner on your site and leaves your site, there is a chance they might never return.

Another problem is that it is very difficult to obtain actual statistics on the number of purchases that result from banner advertising. Although many individuals may click on your banner advertisement and visit your Web site, it is very difficult to relate these visits to actual sales. You might end up spending a lot of money on banner advertising and find that only a few actual sales can be traced back to the originating advertisements. Your banner advertising might be attracting curiosity seekers rather than serious buyers.

Look to your competition
When evaluating banner advertising, pay attention to your competition. See how many businesses similar to yours in size and product mix use banner advertisements and where they are placed. This will give you a rough indication of whether others similar to you have successfully employed banner advertisements.

Promoting Your Web Site to Existing Customers and Prospects
A far better alternative to get visitors to your site is to promote your Web site to your core market—your current customers and prospects. There are three ways to do this:

# You can promote your Web site’s address wherever possible, such as on all of your existing print communications.
# You can obtain your customers’ and prospects’ e-mail addresses whenever possible.
# You can create a direct-mail or telemarketing promotion designed to drive visitors to your site.

Landing pages – how to attract visitors

People search the web for information. They type in either individual words or a question into a search engine such as Google, and this throws up a series of websites whose SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) relates to that request.

Therefore it’s important to make sure the ‘landing page’ your customer visits is relevant to their search. This is not necessarily your website’s homepage, the ‘spiders’ (robots who roam the net for the search engines) may offer up another of your webpages that contains the information requested. Don’t assume your homepage will always be the first point of entry, you should treat each webpage as a potential ‘homepage’ for the product it represents; it might be advantageous for you to present one item per page in order to make it easier for the viewer (as well as the ‘spiders’) to read and digest.

Here’s another thought. Once the surfer has ‘landed’ on a webpage, which, of course, contains all the information they are seeking, how easy should it be for them to leave? If they do, where do they go? To the rest of your website? To a sign-up form for more information, a freebie or a newsletter, leaving their contact details behind them? Or back to the internet, never to be seen again?

How do you keep your visitor once they’ve landed? Research shows you have about three seconds to make an impression before they go elsewhere. Three seconds for them to act, whether it’s to realise this is the correct webpage they want, read the content, click on a link, sign up for something, note down your telephone number, send you an email or decide even to buy from you.

One way to keep your customer’s attention is through the headline on your webpage (this is both at the top of the page and within the head code). Hit them with a catchy, scintillating and, most importantly, relevant first line that says exactly what’s in the tin. Stuff it full of adwords, yet don’t make it too long; it should be clear, concise and uncluttered to entice the visitor to read on. Try offering a provocative question, make an outrageous statement, provide a solution to a problem, play with the words through alliteration or a popular phrase, but above all, avoid ambiguity.

Be aware of what is immediately visible on your webpage. If you have a lot of relevant and necessary content (the more you can say, the better chance you have) which results in a long page, position your most important information at the top. The space ‘above the fold’, ie what can be seen before scrolling down, should contain an enticing summary with links to further material elsewhere on that page. Make sure you include everything that is needed to get your visitor to take action: sign ups for freebies or a newsletter, great graphics, your telephone number or email link, an effective navigation bar, all presented as clearly as possible from the beginning. Don’t loose anything by placing it too far down to be noticed, you can’t guarantee further exploration.

And one final point – don’t clutter up your webpage. Avoid unnecessary gimmicks such as Flash and moving images, they only distract, annoy and do absolutely nothing for your SEO. Simplicity is the key, with clear, relevant graphics (you could make them into colourful and noticeable links), suitably enhanced with alt tags; a restrained use of colour, keeping it to maybe just three including the text colour; a white or pale background: using reversed text and graphics on black results in reduced legibility; and carefully constructed text written by an experienced copywriter: the correct use of adwords is vital for SEO, especially if they match your metatags.

15 Website Elements That Attract Visitors

ere is a quick list of components that make a website attractive. They are listed in layers of attractiveness beginning with the "must" haves, to "nice to haves."

1. State the website's purpose up front and clearly of the site. Do this as quickly as possible. The visitor needs to know immediately if they have landed on the right site. They also need to know "what’s in it for me to stay here." If you don't provide this, they are gone. 90% of the sites on the Net don't do this.

2. Give visitors the ability to search for exactly what they are looking for, if they have something exact in mind. A "site search feature" satisfies this best. Allow the search feature to be prominently displayed and not hidden away somewhere. It is best place in the navigational system so that it shows up on every page. Sales letter only websites are an exception to this rule. Return visitors and visitors that have something specifically in mind, want the option and ability to find what they want fast. So give it to them.

3. Photos allow connection. Especially to people who process visually. Clip art gets them to pay attention, however, it doesn't create much of a connection. Personal photos connect within reason. Keep them less than three to a page. One photo always needs to be in the top portion of the screen on the first page. It doesn't need to be large, but attractive.

4. Ways to capture visitors information wherever possible.

5. Place items on the site that keep them lingering. Audio and video are one of these, yet there are other less time consuming and inexpensive ways to keep them entertained.

6. Articles. For solopreneur sites, your own written articles. For other sites, articles with various authors yet on focus.

7. Interactive elements. For example: response forms, quizzes

8. If you use a shopping cart, it must be fluid, no hiccups. PayPal is not a shopping cart, it’s a hiccup. All auto responders must be well written and positive. If someone purchased something, they need the energy of "thank you."

9. Give offers that are of value.

10. Clear path of where a newcomer can start if it is their first visit.

11. Newsletter that is consistent with the 80/20 rule. 80% value and 20% marketing.

12. E-courses of value.

13. Well-written e-books: 50-75 pages, plus valuable information (info not found anywhere else). Length doesn't do more than provide perceptive value. Once purchased and the vastness is only fluff, then your credibility is shot. Complimentary e-books meet the same requirements.

14. Give them other ways to receive more on...you if you are the focus...or the information if that is the focus.

15. Automated referral system. If you want referrals for your products or services, make it easy for you to get them. Set it up so it’s as automatic as possible, and clear and easy for someone to send you a referral. Be clear on what and how you want to give for that referral.

I see it time and time again: The number-one challenge faced by brand-new internet business owners is a lack of traffic. Obviously, if your website isn't getting any traffic, you're not generating any sales. And what's worse is that without traffic, you can't test the key components of your sales process. And if you roll out a large traffic campaign before you've tested your site to make sure it converts maximum visitors into buyers, you risk losing sales and looking unprofessional to potential business partners and affiliates.

So you're caught in a vicious cycle: Before ramping up a big traffic campaign, you need to test your sales process, but without any traffic, testing is difficult--if not impossible!

In this article, I'm going to give you an eight-step action plan that will show you:

* How to get cheap, instant traffic to your website so you can test key components of your sales process--your sales copy, order form, navigation and opt-in offer--before rolling out a large-scale traffic campaign;
* How to ensure that every element of your sales process is optimized to convert maximum traffic into maximum sales;
* The most effective strategies for attracting thousands of highly qualified potential buyers to your site right away; and
* The secret to putting your entire traffic campaign on autopilot.

Content Continues Below

So even if your site is getting no traffic right now, you can be testing the key elements of your sales process tomorrow--and as soon as two weeks from now, you can be rolling out your traffic campaign in full.

Sound good? Let's get you started off on the right foot!

Step 1: Get the traffic you need to test your website fast! When I talk about testing with new internet business owners, I hear the same two questions all the time:

* How do I test my site?
* What do I test on my site?

As you may already know, there are an infinite number of things you can test on your site to help you increase sales. From layout to copy to design, there are limitless combinations of changes that may improve your visitor-to-sale conversion rate. But what's "enough" when you're just starting out? What elements should you focus on testing before rolling out your traffic campaign?

My advice is to stick to the basics. Focus on testing your:

* Salescopy, especially your headline, benefits, guarantee and call to action
* Order process, which needs to be simple enough for a novice web user to place an order
* Opt-in offer, so you can determine if you're successfully capturing your visitors' contact information
* Site navigation, so you can figure out how many clicks it takes to buy. Ideally it should take less than three.

These are the four critical aspects of your sales process that need to be tested before you start driving traffic. Later on, once you've generated sales and have some steady traffic, you can move on to testing other parts of your site.

Of course, all this talk of testing your new site raises one big question: How can you test without traffic? Because if you're just getting started, chances are good that your website doesn't get much traffic yet.

The solution is simple: Buy traffic through PPC search engines. Pay-per-click search engines are a lot like auctions--they allow you to bid for top-ranking positions under keywords of your choice. For each visitor who searches the keyword(s) you bid on and then clicks through to your site, you pay whatever you bid. Prices typically range from five cents to a few dollars per click-through for popular keywords.

There are a ton of PPC search engines out there, but the two best ones to get started with are:

* Yahoo Search Marketing and
* MIVA

With PPC search engines, you get cheap, instant, qualified traffic--provided you bid on targeted keywords. Not only that, but bidding on traffic in the PPC search engines can help your site get ranked in the free search engines, too!

Here are a few tips to help you start bidding for traffic without breaking the bank:

In Yahoo Search Marketing, bid to appear in the top three listings whenever possible, since these results are also "pushed" to appear in the search results for MSN, Yahoo, AltaVista, InfoSpace, AlltheWeb and NetZero--reaching 80 percent of all internet users.

Bid on targeted, descriptive keywords. So don't just bid on "sock;" bid on "red wool sock." Not only are targeted keywords and phrases usually cheaper to bid on--they'll also attract more qualified potential buyers. Use a keyword selection tool like Google's AdWords Keyword Tool to research targeted keywords that attract maximum traffic for minimal cost-per-click.

After you've tested and tweaked your site with a limited amount of purchased traffic, it's time to start generating qualified traffic for your site on a larger scale. But how do you go from some traffic to a ton of traffic?

Step 2: Get cheap traffic quickly with PPC advertising. Once you've tested your site with limited PPC traffic, the fastest way to ramp up traffic to your site is to roll out a PPC campaign on a larger scale. Obviously, you should start with Yahoo Search Marketing and Findwhat, as mentioned above. But here are some more PPC engines to consider bidding with as you increase your investment:

* Kanoodle
* Enhance Interactive
* LookSmart

This is also a great time to get started with Google AdWords --Google's own PPC contender. With Google AdWords, you get instant traffic with no waiting. Because as soon as you put the money down on your keywords, your ad goes up and starts working for you.

Step 3: Get free traffic from search engines like Google. Now that you've bid on keywords for a strong showing in the PPC search engines, it's time to tackle the organic search engines and directories. Search engines like Google and directories like Yahoo! can still be a great source of free traffic for your website. The trick is getting a competitive ranking for your best keywords.

The first step in getting a top ranking in the search engines is to submit or suggest your site to them. In other words, you have to provide them with details about your site. You want to make sure that the "spiders"--automated programs that crawl the web indexing sites for the search engines--find your site and include it in the search results.

While the spiders do index sites and pages that haven't been submitted, you certainly don't want to leave this to chance. A spider might find your website and index it next week--or it might be two years before that finally happens. So take the time to submit your site to be sure you're included. Once your site's been submitted, expect it to take two to six weeks for your listing to appear.

Every engine has a slightly different process for site submission, and it pays to follow their guidelines. For example, there's a fee to list your site in the directory at Yahoo!, but Google doesn't charge for their submission process. Here's a tip: If you submit your site exactly as they ask, you stand a better chance of getting a good listing on the first page of search results.

To submit or suggest your site to the major engines, follow the simple instructions they provide on these pages:

* For Google, go to www.google.com/addurl/?continue=/addurl
* For Yahoo Directory, go to http://docs.yahoo.com/info/suggest/
* For Yahoo! Search, go to http://submit.search.yahoo.com
* For MSN, go to http://search.msn.com/docs/submit.aspx
* For AOL, submit your site to the Open Directory Project, which uses ODP data. Here's the link: http://dmoz.org/add.html

And don't bother with companies that offer to submit your site to the search engines. Since each search engine uses a different set of criteria to rank your site, free submission services can actually end up doing you more harm than good, since they submit the same information in the same way to all the engines.

Madonna - 4 Minutes

Timbaland: I'm out of time
And all I got is 4 minutes, 4 minutes

Madonna: Come on boy, I've been waiting for somebody to pick up my stroll
Justin: Well don't waste time, give me a sign, tell me how you wanna roll
Madonna: I want somebody to speed it up for me then take it down slow
There's enough room for both
Justin: Girl, I can handle that, you just gotta show me where it's at.
Are you ready to go, Are you ready to go

Madonna and Justin:
If you want it, You already got it
If you've thought it, It better be what you want
If you feel it, It must be real just...
Say the word, and I will give you what you want

Madonna: Time is waiting
Justin: We only got 4 minutes to save the world
Madonna: No hesitating
Madonna: Grab a boy
Justin: Grab a girl
Madonna: Time is waiting
Justin: We only got 4 minutes to save the world
Madonna: No hesitating
Justin: We only got 4 minutes, 4 minutes

Keep it up .....
Madonna
You gotta get in line, hop
Tick tock tick tock tick tock
That's right, keep it up
Keep it up, don't....
Madonna, uh
You gotta get in line, hop
Tick tock tick tock tick tock

Madonna: Sometimes I think, what I need is a you intervention, yeah
Justin: And you know I can tell that you like it
And that it's good, by the way that you move, ooh, hey hey
Madonna: The road to heaven, paved with good intentions, yeah
Justin: But if I got a night
At least I can say I did what I wanted to do
Tell me, how bout you?

Madonna and Justin:
If you want it, You already got it
If you've thought it, It better be what you want
If you feel it, It must be real just...
Say the word, and I will give you what you want

Madonna: Time is waiting

Leona Lewis > Spirit > Bleeding Love> Video> Lyrics

BLEEDING LOVE

Closed off from love I didn’t need the pain
Once or twice was enough and it was all in vain
Time starts to pass before you know it you’re frozen
But something happened for the very first time with you
My heart melted to the ground found something true
And everyone’s looking round thinking I’m going crazy

But I don’t care what they say I’m in love with you
They try to pull me away but they don’t know the truth
My heart’s crippled by the vein that I keep on closing
You cut me open and I

Keep bleeding keep keep bleeding love
I keep bleeding I keep keep bleeding love
Keep bleeding keep keep bleeding love
You cut me open

Trying hard not to hear but they talk so loud
Their piercing sounds fill my ears try to fill me with doubt
Yet I know that their goal is to keep me from falling
But nothing’s greater than the risk that comes with your embrace
And in this world of loneliness I see your face
Yet everyone around me thinks that I’m going crazy
Maybe maybe

Chorus

And it’s draining all of me
Though they find it hard to believe
I’ll be wearing these scars for everyone to see

Chorus

And I keep bleeding, keep keep bleeding love
Keep bleeding, keep keep bleeding love
Keep bleeding, keep keep bleeding love
You cut me open and I
Keep bleeding, keep keep bleeding love

Touch My Body

MC, you're the place to be
Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah
Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah

I know that you've been waiting for it
I'm waiting too
In my imagination I'd be all up on you
I know you got that fever for me
Hundred and two
And boy I know I feel the same
My temperature's through the roof

If there's a camera up in here
Then it's gonna leave with me
When I do (I do)
If there's a camera up in here
Then I'd best not catch this flick

'Cause if you run your mouth and brag
About this secret rendezvous
I will hunt you down
'Cause baby I'm up in my bidness
Like a Wendy interview
But this is private
Between you and I

Touch my body
Put me on the floor
Wrestle me around
Play with me some more
Touch my body
Throw me on the bed
I just wanna make you feel
Like you never did.
Touch my body
Let me wrap my thighs
All around your waist
Just a little taste
Touch my body
Know you love my curves
Come on and give me what I deserve
And touch my body.

Boy you can put me on you
Like a brand new white tee
I'll hug your body tighter
Than my favorite jeans
I want you to caress me
Like a tropical breeze
And float away with you
In the Caribbean Sea

If there's a camera up in here
Then it's gonna leave with me

You won't want for nothing boy
I will give you plenty
Touch my body

with you
==========

I need you boo
I gotta see you boo
And there's hearts all over the world tonight
Said there's hearts all over the world tonight
I need you boo
I gotta see you boo
And there's hearts all over the world tonight
Said there's hearts all over the world tonight

Hey lil mama, ooh you're a stunner
Hot little figure, yes you a winner, and
I'm so glad to be yours
You're a class of your own and
Ooh little cutie, when you talk to me
I swear the whole world stops
You're my sweetheart and
I'm so glad that you're mine
You are one of a kind, and
You mean to me what I mean to you
And together baby there is nothing we won't do

'Cause if I got you
I don't need money
I don't need cars
Girl you're my heart

And oh, I'm into you and
Girl no one else would do
With every kiss and every hug
You make me fall in love
And now I know I can't be the only one
I bet there's hearts all over the world tonight
With the love of their life who feel
What I feel when I'm with you, with you, with you, with you, with you... girl
With you, with you, with you, with you, with you... Oh girl

I don't want nobody else
Without you there's noone left, and
You're like Jordans on Saturday
I gotta have you and I cannot wait now
Hey lil shorty, say you care for me
You know I care for you
You know that I will be true
You know that I won't lie
You know that I will try
Be your everything

'Cause if I got you
I don't need money
I don't need cars
Girl you're my heart

Oh, I'm into you and
Girl no one else would do
With every kiss and every hug
You make me fall in love
And now I know I can't be the only one
I bet there's hearts all over the world tonight
With the love of their life who feel
What I feel when I'm with you, with you, with you, with you, with you... ohhh
With you, with you, with you, with you, with you... Yeah

And I will never try
To deny that you are my whole life
'Cause if you ever let me go
I would die so I won't run
I don't need another woman
I just need you or nothing
'Cause if I got that
Then I'll be straight
Baby you're the best part of my day

I need you boo
I gotta see you boo
And there's hearts all over the world tonight
Said there's hearts all over the world tonight
They need their boo
They gotta see their boo
Said there's hearts all over the world tonight
Hearts all over the world tonight

And oh, I'm into you and
Girl no one else would do
With every kiss and every hug
You make me fall in love
And now I know I can't be the only one
I bet there's hearts all over the world tonight
With the love of their life who feel
What I feel when I'm with you, with you, with you, with you, with you... ohhh(girl)
With you, with you, with you, with you, with you... ohhh
With you, with you, with you, with you, with you...

Then you climb back up the pole,

Hannah Montana See You Again Lyrics

I got my sight set on you

And I'm ready to wait

I have a heart that will

Will never be tamed

I knew you were somethin' special

When you spoke my name

Now I can't wait

To see you again

I've got a way of knowin'

When somethin' is right

I feel like I must have known you

In another life

'Cause I felt this deep connection

When you looked in my eyes(can't wait)

Now I can't wait

To see you again

The last time I freaked out

I just kept lookin' down

I st-st-stuttered when

You asked me what I'm thinkin' 'bout

Felt like I couldn't breathe

You asked what's wrong with me

My best friend Leslie said

"Oh, She's just bein' Miley"

And next time we hang out

I will redeem myself

My heart can't rest 'til then

Whoa, whoa,I

I can't wait

To see you again

I got this crazy feelin'

Deep inside

When you called and asked to see me

Tomorrow night

I'm not a mind reader

But I'm readin' the signs(bet you can't wait)

Bet you can't wait

To see me again

The last time I freaked out

I just kept lookin' down

I st-st-stuttered when

You asked me what I'm thinkin' 'bout

Felt like I couldn't breathe

You asked what's wrong with me

My best friend Leslie said

"Oh, She's just bein' Miley"

And next time we hang out

I will redeem myself

My heart can't rest 'til then

Whoa, whoa,I

I can't wait

To see you again

I got my sight set on you

And I'm ready to wait

The last time I freaked out

I just kept lookin' down

I st-st-stuttered when

You asked me what I'm thinkin' 'bout

Felt like I couldn't breathe

You asked what's wrong with me

My best friend Leslie said

"Oh, She's just bein' Miley"

And next time we hang out

Scorpions

Hadrurus arizonensis pallidus

Scorpions are rather large Arachnids which are more closely related to spiders than they are to insects. Some species are quite poisonous and all species can become a big nuisance especially in homes that have just recently been built.
Scorpion Control
Outside

The first and most important step in control is to eliminate the scorpions habitat. This could be stone and wood piles or left over construction debris. After removing these materials spray a strip six feet wide around your entire house and also spray 3 feet high on the foundation wall and spray all entry points such as windows, doors, plumbing, etc. We recommend Suspend SC for this. You should also treat the weep holes in the foundation and around the plumbing and fireplaces with DeltaDust.
Inside

Spray all the entry points from the inside with Suspend SC . In addition to this it is a good idea to treat the electrical outlets and around the plumbing with a good dust such as DeltaDust. Delta Dust can also be used in the attic to treat around the plumbing and electrical fixtures.
Repeat

Treatment should be done monthly outside and inside in the rooms where scorpions continue to be seen. Once scorpions have not been seen for 30 days then inside treatments can be stopped. For all types of pest control outside treatment can be repeated every 30 days if desired. We recommend the use of small glueboards throughout the house. These work very well in catching any type of small animal and will act as a monitoring device for entering scorpions.

Scorpions are eight legged venomous invertebrates belonging to the class Arachnida, and the order Scorpiones. They are related to spiders, mites, ticks, and harvestmen as well as other members of the Arachnida class. They possess an extended body and a segmented, erectile tail ending with the telson (the sting). There are roughly 1,300 species of scorpions worldwide.

Range & Habitat

Though most prolific and diverse in warm habitat, scorpions have adapted to a wide range of environments, including plains and savannahs, deciduous forests, mountainous pine forests, rain forests and caves. Scorpions have been found at elevations of over 12,000 feet in the Andes Mountains in South America and in the Himalayas of Asia, as well as the Alps. In snowy areas, they hibernate during the cold months of the year. In drought areas they may aestivate (pass the summer in a dormant or torpid state).

About 90 species are found in the U.S. All but four of these naturally occur west of the Mississippi River. Scorpions are most common in southern Arizona and in parts of Texas and central Oklahoma.

Description

The scorpion's body has two parts, a cephalothorax which contains the prosoma, or head; and the abdomen. The cephalothorax is covered by the carapace, a hard bony or chitinous outer covering. The carapace usually suports a pair of median eyes at the top center. Two to five pairs of lateral eyes are found at the front corners of the carapace, though a few cave and montane forest litter-dwelling scorpions are eyeless. Chelicerae, the scorpion's mouthparts, and a pair of pedipalps, or claws used for prey capture and mating complete the head anatomy. The pedipalps are covered with trichobothria, sensory setae, that sense air-borne vibrations.

The abdomen is made up of the mesosoma, the main body, and the metasoma, the tail. The mesosoma, protected by bony armour, contains the lungs, digestive organs and sexual organs, as well as bearing 4 pairs of walking legs and the pectines. The tips of the legs have small organs that detect vibrations in the ground. The pectines are feathery sensory organs which hang beneath the abdomen and trail on the ground. They are coated by chemosensors that provide detection of minute chemical signals that are thought to alert the scorpions to the approach of prey and also to be of use in mating behavior. The respiratory structure, known as "book lungs," are spiracles that open into the scorpion's body. The surfaces of the legs, pedipalps, and body are also covered with thicker hairs that are sensitive to direct touch.

The metasoma curves up and ends in the telson, which bears the bulbous vesicle containing the venom glands and a sharp, curved aculeus which delivers the venom.

Most species of scorpions reach adulthood at a length of between 2 and 3 inches. The longest scorpion in the world is probably the African Scorpion (Hadogenes troglodytes) which grows to over 8 inches in length. In the U.S., members of the genus Hadrurus (giant desert hairy scorpions) are probably the largest, growing to a length of about 5 inches.

Behavior

Scorpions are nocturnal. They often ambush their prey, lying in wait as they sense its approach. They consume all types of insects, spiders, centipedes, and other scorpions. Larger scorpions may feed on vertebrates, such as smaller lizards, snakes, and mice if they are able to subdue them. They capture their prey with their pedipalps, paralyzing them with their venom as well if necessary. The immobilized prey is then subjected to an acid spray that dissolves the tissues, allowing the scorpion to suck up the remains.

As well as being predators, scorpions are also prey. Many types of creatures, such as centipedes, tarantulas, insectivorous lizards, birds (especially owls), and mammals, including shrews, grasshopper mice, and bats hunt scorpions for food.

Life Cycle

The pedipalps are used in scorpion courtship behavior. The male performs a kind of dance with the female, grabbing her pedipalps with his own and dragging her across the ground until he locates a preferred place to deposit his spermatophore, which is then drawn up into the female's genital pore, near the front on the underside of her abdomen. Some species' courtships include a sexual sting of the female by the male.

Scorpion gestation periods vary from several months to a year and a half, depending on the species. Each brood will consist of about 24-35 young. They are viviparious - the young develop as embryos in the female's ovariuterus. The young scorpions are born two at at time, climbing onto their mother's back to be carried there until their first molt in about two weeks, when they will be large and strong enough to take care of themselves.

Scorpions do not metamorphasize as they grow, changing only in size and sometimes to a deeper color with each molt. Typically five or six molts over two to six years are required for the scorpion to reach maturity. The molting is accomplished by a split in the outer covering through which the scorpion must crawl in order to grow.

Scorpion lifespans range from three to five years, though some species are thought to live 10-15 years. Some kinds of scorpions show more sophisticated social behaviors, like colonial burrowing, and living in familial groups that may share burrows and food.

Scorpion Venom

Scorpion venom is used to subdue prey and to defend against threats, as well as in the mating process. The composition and action of the venom varies from species to species. The venoms are mixtures of salts, small molecules, peptides, and proteins. The peptides are specialized; some act against invertebrates and some against vertebrates, and some target both. This complex formula results in a neurotoxin which depolarizes the nervous system of the victim.

Scorpions are apparently able to regulate the delivery of the venom in scale to the size of their target. Some scorpions are known to produce a transparent prevenom in addition to the more potent opaque venom which is loaded with additional toxin. The use of the prevenom occurs at the initiation of the threat or opportunity. If the action persists, the opaque venom is released. These abilities enable the scorpion to conserve the venom for use when it is needed most, for larger predators or prey.

Medically Significant Scorpion Species

Most of the more venomous scorpions have lighter, more delicate pedipalps and larger, stronger tails. The Buthidae family contains most of the scorpions dangerous to man. They can generally be distinguished by the triangular sternal plate on their ventral side. Other species' sternal plates are more square or pentagonal.

Only one species of scorpion in North America and about 20 others worldwide have venom potent enough to be dangerous to human beings. The North American species, Centruroides exilicauda (formerly called C. sculpturatus), is found over much of Arizona and Mexico. It is also known as the Arizona Bark Scorpion. A small population occurs in extreme southeastern California, and a few records exist for southern Utah and small parts of Texas, New Mexico and Nevada. The venom of this scorpion can cause severe pain and swelling at the site of the sting, numbness, frothing at the mouth, respiratory difficulties, muscle twitching, and convulsions. The sting is more dangerous to infants, small children and the elderly. Death is rare, especially in more recent times. An antivenom was created by Arizona State University but is no longer being produced, and is not FDA approved. The FDA has recently given approval for clinical trials to evaluate a Mexican antivenom for use in the United States.

Medically significant species of scorpion occur worldwide:

  • In the Mediterranean and North Africa - Buthus, Leiurus, Androdoctonus and Leiurus
  • In Western and Southern Africa - Parabuthus
  • Across Southern Africa to Southeast Asia - Buthotus (also known as Hottentotta)
  • In Asia - Mesobuthus and the Buthotus (also known as Hottentotta)
  • South America - Tityus

Ancestry

Scorpions have been found in many fossil records, including coal deposits from the Carboniferous Period and in marine Silurian deposits. They are thought to have existed in some form since about 425–450 million years ago. They are believed to have an oceanic origin, with gills and a claw like appendage that enabled them to hold onto rocky shores or seaweed.

The scholarly discipline of Bullshit Studies has blossomed in the last several years, fertilized by a number of critical works on the subject and the growing importance of the issue across a wide range of professions. Now, best-selling author and lifelong practitioner Stanley Bing enters the field with a comprehensive look at the many attractive jobs now available to those who are serious about their bullshit and prepared to dedicate their working life to it.

What, Bing inquires, do a feng shui consultant, new media executive, wine steward, department store greeter, and Vice President of the United States have in common? What, too, are the actual duties performed by a McKinsey consultant? Other than sitting around making people nervous? Could that possibly be his core function? Likewise, what does an aromatherapist actually do, per se? Sniff things and rub them on people, for big fragrant bucks? Is that all?

The answer in all cases is "Yes." They all have bullshit jobs.

These few, of course, are just the beginning. Across the length and breadth of this shrinking globe, skillful bullshit artists have secured pleasant, lucrative employment, and are enjoying themselves more than you are. In virtually every occupation, from Advertising to Yoga Franchising, lucky individuals who "work" in these coveted positions enjoy the best lives imaginable -- they are paid well, they rarely break a sweat, and their professions are highly respected, because nobody really knows what they do.

At once funny, useful, and tolerably philosophical, this groundbreaking work takes a close look at 100 bullshit jobs -- the money they bring with them, the actual tasks and activities involved (if any), and famous and successful examples of each position, who will provide the neophyte with inspiration. Most crucially, Bing goes on to offer what others so far have not--a clear, concise strategy to help job-seekers at every level reach for that brass ring, knowing full well that it may be attached to the nose of a bull.

Arthur E. Powell - The Etheric Double

Arthur E. Powell - The Etheric Double

According to esoteric teachings we have an energy body of lighter, less
dense material that is connected to our physical bodies. Those who can see it call it the aura and can sometimes tell the state of a person's health by the way it appears. Those who use its energy refer to the force as prana, chi, vital force, orgone or a number of other names.
There are seven chakras, or energy points, where this energy collects in the etheric body. Working with the chakras and these spiritual energies can play a big part in the psychic development and enlightenment of those sensitive enough to work on these levels. This book shows you how.
Subjects include a chapter on each chakra center; also Prana or Vitality, Force-Centres, Kundalini, Healing, Mediumship, Birth, Death, Mesmerism, Magnetisation of Objects, Ectoplasm, and more.

Erich von Daniken - Chariots of the Gods

Erich von Daniken - Chariots of the Gods

Erich von Daniken's Chariots of the Gods is a work of monumental importance--the first book to introduce the shocking theory that ancient Earth had been visited by aliens. This world-famous bestseller has withstood the test of time, inspiring countless books and films, including the author's own popular sequel, The Eyes of the Sphinx. But here is where it all began--von Daniken's startling theories of our earliest encounters with alien worlds, based upon his lifelong studies of ancient ruins, lost cities, potential spaceports, and a myriad of hard scientific facts that point to extraterrestrial intervention in human history. Most incredible of all, however, is von Daniken's theory that we ourselves are the descendants of these galactic pioneers--and the archeological discoveries that prove it... * An alien astronaut preserved in a pyramid.

* Thousand-year-old spaceflight navigation charts
* Computer astronomy from Incan and Egyptian ruins
* A map of the land beneath the ice cap of Antarctica
* A giant spaceport discovered in the Andes
Includes remarkable photos that document mankind's first contact with aliens at the dawn of civilization.

Contents:

1 - Arc there intelligent Beings in the Cosmos?
2 - When our Space-ship landed on Earth ...
3 - The Improbable World of the Unexplained
4 - Was God an Astronaut?
